EML file support
View and search EML files
in your browser.
Upload individual EML files or a ZIP archive of saved emails. Every message is rendered with full formatting and indexed for search. No email client required.
The problem with EML files
EML files are individual email messages. If you have hundreds or thousands saved from a mail server, forensic export, or backup, searching through them one at a time is impractical.
Most operating systems don't have a built-in EML viewer. Double-clicking an EML file might open Outlook, Mail, or nothing at all, depending on what's installed.
Maildir-style exports from servers produce directories full of EML files with no way to search across them. The emails are preserved, but practically inaccessible.
How it works
How Evermail handles EML files
Upload your EML files
Upload a single .eml file or a .zip archive containing multiple EML files. Maildir-style directory exports (zipped) are also supported. Evermail auto-detects the structure.
Evermail parses and indexes
Each EML file is parsed with MimeKit (RFC 2822 compliant). Messages are wrapped into a unified archive and indexed for full-text search. Attachments are extracted and stored.
Search and browse
Search across all uploaded emails by keyword, sender, date, or attachment name. View messages with full HTML rendering. Download attachments individually.

Common questions
EML file questions
How do I view an EML file?
Upload your EML file to Evermail. The message is rendered with full HTML formatting, attachments, and headers. No email client installation required.
Can I search across multiple EML files at once?
Yes. Upload a ZIP archive containing EML files and Evermail indexes all of them into a single searchable archive. You can search across all messages by keyword, sender, date, or attachment.
What is an EML file?
An EML file is a single email message saved in the Internet Message Format (RFC 5322). Most email clients can export individual messages as .eml files. Mail servers using Maildir format store every message as a separate EML file.
Can I convert EML files to PST or MBOX?
Yes. After uploading EML files to Evermail, you can export the indexed archive as MBOX format. For Outlook import, export as individual EML files and use Outlook's built-in import feature.
